Dr. Jane Penelope Johnson, of Danville, Kentucky, has been included in the Strathmore’s Who’s Who Worldwide Edition for her outstanding contributions and achievements in the fields of poetry and song lyrics. About Dr. Jane Penelope Johnson Dr. Johnson is a freelance writer, poet and song lyricist specializing in patriot and gospel songs. Her many notable career accomplishments and awards include The Emily Dickinson Award for her poem, “The Wedding”; receiving Honorable Mention for the President’s Award for “Heaven Awaits”; for writing “Fighting for Freedom”, “Americans Stand Tall Songbook”, honoring victims of 9/11 and “The 2002 Noble Prize” for Outstanding Achievement and Contributions to Worldwide Humanity. Dr. Johnson has several published works including “Anthology, Treasured Poems of America”, “A Penny for Your Thoughts” and “A Song for Peace”. Her poem, “The Beginning or the End?” was a semi-finalist at The North American Poetry Open and the poem, “Shout it Out-Immortal Verses about the Birth of Jesus Christ” was published worldwide. Dr. Johnson’s honors and awards include “Most Admired Woman of the Decade”; “International Woman of the Year”; recipient of the American Medal of Honor for Outstanding Contributions to the Arts and Poetry and was appointed for inclusion in the “500 Greatest Genius Laureates of the 21st Century”. Dr. Johnson graduated from the Famous Writers School in 1967 and attended The Newspaper Institute of America and the Denis Waitley School of Dynamic Winning. She received an Honorary Doctor of Letters, London, England in 1993. She writes under the pen name, Penny Johnson. Dr. Johnson currently resides in Lexington, Kentucky with her husband William. She has two children and two grandchildren. She enjoys the piano, singing, dancing, walking and swimming.
