SYOSSET, NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 12, 2011 – Joan W. Coner, of Portsmouth, Virginia, has been included in the Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Edition for her outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of healthcare consulting.
ABOUT JOAN W. CONER
Ms. Coner has more than 40 years of experience encompassing 20 years of nursing and 20+ years in healthcare software consulting. She has been with her current company, MaxIT Healthcare, for the past six years, serving as a Senior Consultant, Future State Design Lead and Nurse Liaison. Her responsibilities include authoring training materials and working with doctors, nurses and other staff members regarding how to use medical software. Ms. Coner has worked closely with CPOE processes at several hospitals and medical centers, working with Knowledge Based Care modules to implement standards for the care of current patient populations. Prior to her present position, Ms. Coner served as a Senior Training Consultant for both Cerner and Eclipsys/Allscripts Corporations, maintaining current certifications with these two vendors. Her nursing experience included critical care, surgery, emergency department/trauma center, and chemical dependency nursing. Ms. Coner received a Nursing Diploma from Portsmouth General Hospital's School of Nursing in 1967, and credits towards a B.S.N. from Frederick College. She has received numerous awards including the Star Speaker Award, from Medical Information Systems Association, Anaheim, California, in 2002, Three Cerner Star Awards as recognition for client praise, from three separate clients in 2004 and a Service Award from MaxIT Healthcare, in 2009. Ms. Coner is a member of the American Nursing Association, the Critical Care Nurses Association and Beta Sigma Phi. She currently resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she enjoys music, painting, travel and her grandchildren.
