Mr. Bucher began his career as a plant Process Engineer in textile fibers in 1967. He became a Project Engineer in 1969, providing equipment installation design at the textile fiber's Christina Lab R&D facility. In 1971, he was a Process Engineer in the KevlarŪ Process Development Facility at the Richmond, Virginia Textile Fiber's Plant. He also served as a Process Engineer in 1974, with the DuPont Instrument Products Company that manufactured UV/Visible Photometric Process Analyzers. His experience included specifying design parameters for spectrophotometers to measure concentration of specific compounds, then designing sample systems for integrating the spectrophotometers to the process. This provided a complete measurement system for the customer. Mr. Bucher also provided measurement systems for EPA Emission Monitoring, process control and safe environments (toxic or explosive). In 1986, he became a Consultant in the DuPont Engineering Services Division that later became DuPont Engineering Technology and provided Process Measurement Systems for all DuPont businesses. His experience included providing real-time composition measurement systems that included writing specifications, equipment cost estimates, equipment fabrication, customer inspections and plant system startups. |
