| Work History: | Dr. Shelton-Chaney's career began as an elementary school teacher in Saint Louis, Missouri, in 1964. She moved with her husband who was a financial analyst with IBM to New York in 1968 where she taught elementary school in Greenburgh. Six months later, Dr. Shelton-Chaney moved with her husband to San Jose, California where she taught elementary school until 1972. With another move via IBM back to New York, Dr. Shelton-Chaney again taught elementary school, then middle school and high school in Greenburgh, New York from 1972 to1986. In 1986, she became a Pupil Personnel Director in the Ossining Union Free School District in Ossining, New York from1986 to 1992. From 1992 to 2004 she served as Director of the Pre-K Program, and Assistant Principal at Park School and Principal of Roosevelt Elementary School in the Ossining School District. Her passion for teaching children led her to opening a Primrose School for the early young child in 2006 in Atlanta, Georgia. |
