Work History: Previously, Ms. Horton served in the public sectors of human resources (state government, higher education (state university and community college), k-12 education, health care, and government). She was the first African- American to become the Director of Employee Relations at Broward College and is experienced as an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Contract Mediator. Ms. Horton has served as both a State of Florida Mediator and Arbitrator.

Career Accomplishments: During the past two years, Ms. Horton assisted with Mayor Daniella Levine Cavas’ ”I Thrive 305 Initiative,” by serving as one of the evening facilitators. As a result, she was featured on the Miami-Dade County website. In December of 2021, she was extended an invitation to be recognized during the Mayor’s Employee Appreciation Breakfast.
