Wyatt Rushton Haskell

Narrative: Wyatt Rushton Haskell, a founding member of the firm of Haskell Slaughter Young & Rediker, LLC, has represented local governments, bond underwriters, industrial development boards, city and county school boards, cooperative districts, utility boards and other public finance clients in hundreds of projects throughout the State of Alabama. His practice has focuses particularly on infrastructure and educational financings and economic and commercial development projects.

Active in civic and charitable affairs, Mr. Haskell has served as a director or trustee of the Birmingham Museum of Art, the Alabama Symphonic Association, the State of Alabama Ballet, the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and the Birmingham Music Club. In addition, he is a member of the Trustees' Committee of the Folger Shakespeare Library, a Thomas Pope Fellow of Trinity College, Oxford, a member of the National Committee of the U.S. Junior Tennis League and a member of the Alys Robinson Stephens Performing Arts Advisory Board. He is a lifetime member of the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Presidents Society and a member of the Friends of the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Legislative Network. In 2005, he and his wife, Susan, received the "Outstanding Philanthropist" Award from the Alabama Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Haskell has been involved in entrepreneurial start-ups in the real estate and construction industries, has served as a director of companies in the banking, real estate and medical device industries, has practiced in the legal department of a large energy company and has served as a Visiting Research Assistant at the University of Muenster in Germany.

Mr. Haskell holds an A.B. from Amherst College and an LL.B. from Yale Law School. He is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and has been a faculty member for NABL educational programs.

Mr. Haskell currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife, where he enjoys playing tennis, skiing and poetry.
