GILBERT L. SCOTT HONORED FOR STRATHMORE'S WHO'S WHO WORLDWIDE GLOBAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Mr. Gilbert L. Scott, of Brownsburg, Indiana, has received the Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Global Achievement Award for his outstanding success, perseverance and longevity in the field of Engineering on an international level.

About Gilbert L. Scott

In June, 1952, Mr. Scott joined RCA as a Quality Control Engineer where he worked in the parts preparation area until 1958 and was then transferred to the manufacturing engineering department. In 1966, he was transferred to the finishing area. In his capacity as a Finishing Engineer, he developed the technique of square wave analysis of high screen current rejects in electron tubes. Mr. Scott worked as a Reliability Engineer on television sets until 1998, where he improved printed circuit board layouts for reliability and manufacturing. He also was a member of the Wave Solder Improvement Task Force. Mr. Scott left RCA in 1998 and began working for Roche Diagnostics as a Reliability and Validation Engineer in design quality for blood glucose meters. He developed field failure rate prediction methods for manufacturing and environmental-related field failures and introduced techniques for measuring the impact of manufacturing and environment on field failure rates as well as introducing analytical techniques for measuring life test results. He retired from Roche in 2003. Mr. Scott graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana in 1952 with a B.S. Degree in Economics. He was honored as Man of the Year in 2003 from the American Biographical Institute and received the Lifetime Achievement Award and the DaVinci Diamond Award for Outstanding Contributions to Reliability Engineering, from the International Biographical Centre in Cambridge, England. He currently lives in Indiana with his wife, Donna. He has four children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Scott enjoys ballroom dancing, boating, swimming and attending the theatre.

Work History: Mr. Scott joined RCA in June, 1952 as a Quality Control Engineer. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1952 working as a Radio Operator and was discharged in 1954. He resumed his career with RCA in the electron tube division. Mr. Scott worked as a Quality Control Engineer in the parts preparation area of an electron tube plant until 1958 and was then transferred to the manufacturing engineer department. The Indiana tube plant merged with the New Jersey tube plant in 1962, where he participated in the successful transfer of the filament coating and winding operations. He was transferred to the finishing area in 1966 where he developed the technique of square wave analysis of high-screen current rejects in electron tubes. Mr. Scott transferred to the consumer electronics division's corporate office in Indianapolis in 1977. He worked as a Reliability Engineer on TV sets until 1998 where he improved printed circuit board layouts for reliability and manufacturing. He also participated on a wave solder improvement task force. In 1998, he left RCA to work for Roche Diagnostics as a Reliability and Validation Engineer in design quality for blood glucose meters. Mr. Scott retired from Roche in 2003.
