Mr. Holland has been instrumental in raising funds for the Veterans Transition Center which is a resource tool for homeless veterans and their families to utilize in reaching re-integration and self-sufficiency. Over the last five years, he has brought the program from an annual revenue of $480,000 to $1,200,000. He has enabled them to grow from 20 to 40 houses, bringing the program up from 76 to 146 beds for homeless veterans. They assist all veterans in need and to date, have helped over 6,155 single veterans and 451 veterans' families. Mr. Holland believes that among his greatest achievements within the program is that 80% of the veterans have graduated back into society with permanent housing, income and VA benefits, with each one maintaining sobriety and permanent housing for one year. His program is considered one of the best that assists homeless veterans and their families by both the U. S. Veterans Administration and the U. S. Department of Urban Development. |
