Dr. Rivera has served as a Research Professor at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez Campus (UPRM) from 2002 to the present. From 1996 to 2003 he was a Chemistry Associate Research Professor, and from 1993 to 1996 he served as a Chemistry Auxiliary Research Professor. Dr. Rivera was a Chemistry Director and Coordinator of the Central Research Instrumentation Laboratory (CRIL) from 1993 to 2001, and offered training and service to professors, graduate and undergraduate students across the UPRM Campus and nearby industrial community. He was a Senior Analytical Chemist from 1988 to 1992 with Eli-Lilly Industries, Inc, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and originally served as an Instructor from 1978 to 1982 with the University of Puerto Rico, Cayey Campus. |

Dr. Rivera's career highlights have been his participation as an educator in all aspects of the profession, that is, teaching chemistry and research techniques and performing research. In addition, he has organized and conducted workshops for hands-on training in experimental techniques has fostered the dissemination of scientific research in local, national and international scientific meetings for the benefit of students, colleagues and the whole community. |
