Work History: Dr. Campbell has held numerous national and local offices. She is a former member of the U.S. State Department Advisory Committee on Religious Freedom Abroad. She was a Trustee of the Council for a Parliament of the World Religions and was on the Advisory Committee for Americans for Humanitarian Trade with Cuba. Dr. Campbell was also a member with the Fund for Education in South Africa

Career Accomplishments: Dr. Campbell was the first woman to become Associate Executive Director of the Greater Cleveland Council of Churches, the Executive Director of the U.S. Office of the World Council of Churches, the General Secretary of the National Council of the Churches of Christ and the first woman Director of Religion at Chautauqua Institution. She has served as Honorary Election Monitor with President Kaunda of Zambia in the election of Nelson Mandela as the first African President of South Africa. She is a Co-Founder of the National Religious Partnership on the Environment and a Co-Director with the Rev. Jesse Jackson for the Mission to Belgrade to successfully negotiate the release of captured American soldiers.
