| Work History: |
Ms. Hickman has been providing nursing services with the Pikeville Medical Center in numerous capacities since 1974, including Staff and Head Nurse in the Medical-Surgical Unit, Head Nurse, Critical Care Unit, House Supervisor and Assistant Director of Nursing Services, Unit Manager Level II N.I.C.U. and Director of Children's Services, as well as her current position as Chief Nursing Officer which she has held since 1998. Ms. Hickman served as Adjunct Faculty in the Nursing Program of Pikeville College from 1993 to 1994 and as a Clinical Preceptor with the B.S.N. Program at Morehead University from 1995 to 1996. |

Recently, Ms. Hickman assisted with the design and building of a 55-million dollar expansion of the Hospital. She helped decrease the nursing turnover rate to 6% and increased the number of nurses getting bachelors degrees by having the hospital provide 100% reimbursement for advanced degrees. Ms. Hickman has also served on many hospital and medical staff committees at Pikeville Medical Center including Pediatrics/Neonataology, OB/GYN, Safety, Critical and Primary Care, Emergency Room, Cardiology, Surgery, Quality Council, Board of Directors, Senior Management and Palliative Care. |
