Work History: Dr. Hellinger was Director of Laparoscopic Surgery at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinic/Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center from 1996 to 1997. Concurrently he was the Chief of the Division of Colon Surgery at the University of Miami Hospital as well from 1996 to 2007. He served as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery from 1994 to 2002 and an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery with the University of Miami School of Medicine from 2002 to 2008. He has been an Attending Surgeon since 1994 and was Chief of the Colon and Rectal Surgery Service from 1996 to 2007 at Jackson Memorial Hospital as well as a Staff Surgeon at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Miami from 1994 to 2008. In addition, Dr. Hellinger was Program Director of the Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency Program from 2002 to 2008 during which time he was also Director of the Anorectal Physiology Lab at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinic.
