Work History: Dr. Paley served as Chief of Pediatric Orthopedics and Professor of Orthopedic Surgery with the University of Maryland and Kernan Hospitals from 1987 to 2001. He was also the Director of the Rubin Institute and Co-director of the International Center for Limb Lengthening, Sinai Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, from 2001 to 2009.

Career Accomplishments: Dr. Paley brought the Ilizarov method to North America in 1987. He developed more than 100 surgical procedures and wrote the bible of deformity correction surgery (Principles of Deformity Correction). He also developed the Multiplier Method to predict height and limb length difference in children. He is the Founder and first President of the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society. He trained most of the worlds surgeons in this field. Dr. Paley has operated on children in over 70 countries, most recently, in Haiti, as part of a self-sponsored mission trip.
